InDIGENOUS & NORTHERN ONTARIO INTERNship project

Nurturing opportunities for our Indigenous Communities

Steadfast provides various internship and employment opportunities to students and Indigenous community members, training and providing them with work in more remote service areas within Northern Ontario communities.

The heart and soul of Steadfast is to create safe spaces where residents and community members can gather together, help support and care for their fellow neighbours and have access to social services, training, education and employment. Our goal is to be a pillar in the northern Ontario communities and to facilitate and nurture opportunities for Indigenous members to receive support, education, training, resources, and services otherwise difficult to obtain in much needed areas.

Steadfast is helping to bring sustainability to various northern Indigenous communities, with the goal of being to help promote a better understanding and connection to our Indigenous partners. As a "for-benefit" business initiative allows Steadfast to be able to build teams of volunteers and employ staff to champion various projects in the areas of renovations, construction, automotive repairs, and food services.  Through building relationships with chiefs and band councils, Steadfast is taking action to plan and provide services that support and provide sustainability for the future.

Currently, Steadfast is building their renovations and construction teams for Northern Ontario to assist Indigenous community members with re-building decks, repairing handrails, replacing doors, as well as other minor home repairs, and ensuring homes are fire and flood safe. Steadfast will not only bring in the people to do the work but help navigate the process for individuals who can apply for various provincial and community funding programs that will allow them to make their homes and properties safer.
